> GD 19 - T-Mac’s Guy Day Canceled.
February 19, 2005
On the eve of GD-19, board member Ted made an executive
decision to cancel his Guy Day. The number of participants dwindled as last-minute conflicts caused a flurry of pending no-shows. With the confirmed list of Guys down to four, Ted called the event off.
“I just don’t want to have a lame Guy Day,” said T-Mac, as he wrestled with the decision. “There’s just not enough Guys.”
Ted’s Guy Day was already subject to two schedule changes, which may have contributed to the conflicts. Originally scheduled for Super-bowl weekend, it was moved to Feb 12 and again to Feb 19. T-Mac also thought he was late in promoting the event.
Exec board member DJLA also expressed his disappointment. “Maybe we should call this Skirt Day – nobody would show up for that either. We are going to have three Guy Days this year – that is really pathetic”
The year-end Guy Day wrap-up will be the Final Four Fest at Lem’s on April 2.
